Aylesbury Vale Local Plan 2013 – 2033 has been made!

Vale of Aylesbury Local Plan (VALP)
24th September 2021

Following the Planning Inspector’s Report on the Vale of Aylesbury Local Plan (VALP), the Council moved to adopt the document through the meetings of Cabinet on the 13th September and a full Council on the 15th September. In accordance with the relevant regulations, the following documents have been made available:

  • The Vale of Aylesbury Local Plan 2013 – 2033 (adoption version);
  • The Policies Map;
  • The Adoption Statement;
  • The Sustainability Appraisal Report; and
  • The Sustainability Appraisal Adoption Statement.

It is still possible for the adoption of the Local Plan to be challenged under section 113 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 on the grounds that a) the document is not within the appropriate power; and b) a procedural requirement has not been complied with. These challenges have to happen within six weeks after the publication of the accompanying adoption statement, which is until Wednesday 27th October 2021.

It should be noted that VALP references a series of Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs). These include site-specific SPDs in addition to the guidance in relation to affordable housing, design and biodiversity. Draft versions of these documents are scheduled for consultation in due course.

Should you wish to discuss the opportunities that have arisen from the adoption of the VALP or what this might mean for one of your upcoming projects, please feel free to contact Edgars. Our staff members would be glad to discuss your enquiry, options and next steps.
