Racing for Change: Supporting Homeless Oxfordshire Through Race Across Oxfordshire
At Edgars, we believe that the places we shape should improve lives. For many of us working in planning and the built environment, our careers are driven by a desire to create communities that are inclusive, safe and sustainable – places where people can thrive. Central to that is housing.
Yet for too many people across Oxfordshire, having somewhere safe and secure to call home is no longer a given.
Edgars takes on ‘Race Across Oxfordshire’
We are proud to be supporting Homeless Oxfordshire through this year’s Race Across Oxfordshire fundraising challenge.
Our very own Rachel Davies and Megan King will be taking part on behalf of Edgars, navigating their way across the county using skill, teamwork and determination – all without modern technology and with only limited cash at their disposal. It promises to be a fun, demanding and memorable challenge – all in aid of an incredibly important cause.
As part of this effort, Edgars has pledged to raise £1,000 for Homeless Oxfordshire. Every penny raised will directly support individuals and families facing homelessness here in our local community.

Why this cause matters
Homelessness is an increasing and deeply challenging issue across the country. Spiralling housing costs, whether renting or buying have left many people facing impossible choices. In a region experiencing a severe affordability crisis, homelessness has become an all-too-common reality.
Homeless Oxfordshire works at the frontline of this challenge. As the county’s largest provider of accommodation and specialist support for people experiencing homelessness, the charity offers both immediate help and long-term solutions. Their services go far beyond providing a roof: they support individuals to rebuild their lives with dignity, stability and hope.
From emergency accommodation and supported housing to tailored programmes that help people regain independence, Homeless Oxfordshire delivers practical, life-changing support to those most in need. Demand for these services continues to grow – and as a charity, they rely heavily on public fundraising and donations to continue their vital work.
