Amy Powell – National Apprenticeship Week 2023

Amy Powell, Senior Planner
09th February 2023

Earlier this week, we featured one of our graduate planners, Charlie, who is currently on an apprenticeship whilst with us at Edgars.

Today, we’re highlighting another member of our team that chose to undertake an apprenticeship, although via a slightly different route to Charlie.

Amy joined us in the autumn of 2019, having managed an independent lettings office in Oxford for eight years. After a career change at the age of 30, Amy started a Royal Town Planning Institute apprenticeship degree with our support.

Last year, Amy completed her apprenticeship and gained a distinction in her Master’s degree in Chartered Town Planning at London South Bank University. Following this, she was elected as a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

In Amy’s time with us, she has been promoted to a senior planner position, and more recently, won the ‘RTPI South East Young Planner of the Year 2022’.

“The combination of working and studying mutually supports each other, and because both elements are linked under the apprenticeship, both my employer and university understood the pressures of the other…I am incredibly proud to have now been elected as a Chartered Member of the RTPI, even more so as one of the first apprentices to achieve this”, commented Amy, Senior Planner at Edgars.

We’re very proud of Amy and all she has achieved in just the first few years of her planning career.
