We’re delighted to have recently secured outline planning permission for 7 new HQ buildings which form part of a £50 million Innovation Quarter at Bicester Motion.
Bicester Motion is a 444-acre former RAF site and home to more than 50 businesses in all forms of mobility technology, past, present and future.
In a bid to boost future pioneering mobility discovery, the new buildings will total 212,030 sq ft (19,698 sq m) and form an integral element of Bicester Motion’s wider masterplan, in which we also obtained planning consent for The Command Works, Experience Quarter and Bicester Heritage Hotel.
There were a number of competing constraints that required careful consideration during the planning process, including the site’s location within a conservation area, listed buildings, Scheduled Ancient Monuments, landscape sensitivities and ecology.
As the project planning consultant, we collaborated with the client, Bicester Motion, and a talented project team, including 3DReid, IKS Consulting, Hydrock, Mcgregor Smith, Ecology Solutions, Worlledge Associates, and mode transport planning.
After submitting the outline planning application in July 2023, we’re pleased to confirm the positive decision was determined in just 12 weeks. With project construction due to start in spring 2024, we look forward to seeing the development come to life in the near future.
