She has a Masters in Historic Conservation from Oxford Brookes, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Urban Design from Westminster University. In her career, that now spans over 21 years, Katie has worked in both local authorities and the private sector, ensuring she has a wide-ranging knowledge of the heritage sector.
Katie uses her passion and enthusiasm to advocate for the special qualities of the historic environment; Katie particularly enjoys working collaboratively with design teams to ensure a holistic approach is taken to a site, and ensure the client’s aims can be achieved through sensitive, sustainable and high-quality design solutions. She also particularly enjoys the challenges of large multidisciplinary projects and securing the optimum solution for all disciplines.
Katie is adept at assessing the significance of heritage assets and articulating this in Heritage Impact Assessments to support planning applications, formulating strategies for development schemes involving assets, providing detailed design advice and negotiating with local authority and amenity groups.
