What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals, local plan submissions, masterplans and vision documents
  • Expertly managing high-profile projects and projects with complex and sensitive planning designations
  • Actively seeking out and developing business development opportunities and attending key events
  • Managing an internal team, looking after wellbeing, development and performance management
  • Keeping abreast of changes in legislation and maximising associated opportunities for the business

About you

  • Planning degree (or relevant field)
  • MRTPI qualification
  • Management/leadership qualification, or demonstrable management experience
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in planning in public or private sector
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Mediation, advocacy, and negotiation skills
  • Strong business development record
  • Ability to provide technically excellent reporting
  • In-depth technical understanding of the planning and political system and legal framework
